NRB Registration Kicks Off June 5 »Hello from RPI! As you continue to wrap up your senior year of high school, we will start to communicate more so you are ready to join us this fall.
The next stop on your Road to RPI is to register for one of our exciting overnight experiences and select your NRB Adventure Blocks. Prepare for registration, which opens Friday, June 5, at 10 a.m. EDT, by learning more about these opportunities below.

Fall 2026 NRB Overnight Trips (Optional)
Kick off your RPI experience with one of our optional NRB Overnight Trips! We offer four different types of overnight trips: summer camp-style experiences, small group excursions, peer-led adventures, and a community service focused trip. Details can be on our NRB overnight trip page.
Fall 2026 NRB Adventure Blocks (Required)
Adventure Blocks are a memorable and exciting part of the NRB experience. With over 70 options, these RPI club and organization led activities allow first-year students to try something new while meeting people from all around campus. With offerings like a mini film festival with UPAC Cinema, a combat robotics competition with the RPI Robotics Club, vertical volleyball with the RPI Volleyball Club and HackRPI's to the clouds and beyond ideathon, there's a block for everyone! There is a lot do this summer, but don't worry. FYE will walk you through important tasks and ensure you are ready for a successful start at RPI. Be sure to review the "To Do NOW" section below for information on the tasks you should be completing (or have completed) now.

Select Your RPI Laptop | The RPI Mobile Computing Program (MCP) provides students with competitively priced, pre-configured laptops through the school, along with extensive benefits including a four-year warranty, on-campus support, loaner laptops, and certified repair services. Check out the Fall 2026 options, and make your selection by May 29, 2026.
Review Fall 2026 NRB Overnight and Adventure Block Offerings | NRB is an immersive experience filled with programming designed to help you acclimate to RPI. Check out our Fall 2026 overnight (optional) and adventure block (required) options. We will continue to update these pages as we get closer to registration. Registration for NRB opens Friday, June 5, 2026. All students are required to register for NRB regardless of whether you are attending an overnight.

First-Year Advising and Registration
To prepare for your fall courses, you'll go through an advising period followed by course registration. Your academic school will guide you through the process. To start preparing for advising and registration, please review the First-Year Advising and Registration page and your respective academic advising websites before the advising period.
Academic Advising Hub Websites
Students entering as undeclared will work with our Student Success Center team throughout the advising and registration period.
AP Scores and Transfer Credits
As you prepare for advising and registration, please make sure you've submitted your AP scores and transfer credits by June 20, 2026. For more information on transferring credits to RPI, check out this resource. If you have questions, connect with our Registrar's Office at transfercredit@rpi.edu.

JumpStart Scholars Program
As part of the Office of Inclusive Excellence, the JumpStart Scholars Program is aimed at supporting the transition for First-Generation college students not only during the summer transition period, but throughout their entire first year. The JumpStart Scholars Program is an invitation only experience for First Generation students enrolled at RPI in Fall 2026.

RPI CSTEP
The Collegiate Science & Technology Entry Program (CSTEP) at RPI is excited to announce that applications for the Fall 2026 semester are now open!

CSTEP is an academic enrichment program designed to support New York State residents who are economically disadvantaged and pursuing careers in STEM, various licensed professions and/or health-related fields. Project Kaleidoscope
A unique opportunity for enrolling neurodiverse students to attend a transition program designed to help participants with the changes related to going to college. The 10-day transition program encompasses an early residential program for participants to develop academic, social, and life skills through

mentoring, access to academic support resources, and enrichment seminars that focus on excelling in the uniquely demanding RPI environment. Advice for new students: Stay humble and be ready to adapt. You have to stay organized, ask for help when needed, and put in the work every week. Once you adjust to the pace and expectations, things become much more manageable.
